The Peter Stebbings Memorial Charity's response to COVID-19

15th April 2020

We recognise that this is an extremely challenging time for many charities and those they help. We want to be flexible and continue to offer support where we can. With this in mind please read the following FAQs regarding COVID-19 and their answers below.

If you have received a grant from The Trust in the last 6 months:

Q1. We are now unable to deliver our project, can we delay the spending of our grant until things are back to normal?

If you have a received a grant this calendar year you can delay its spending until you are able to deliver the work. We would appreciate an email informing us of the delay, and would like you to keep in touch as things develop and when the project is able to continue. We will require a detailed report once the grant has been spent.
If you received a grant in 2019, you should already have at least begun to spend the grant in line with our terms and conditions. If you are unable to finish or need to suspend a project, you can delay spending the rest of the grant until your project is back up and running. Please let us know via email if this is the case. However, please send us a report within 6 months of the date on which you received your grant, outlining how you have begun to spend your funds, even if the project has now been suspended. We will then require a final report once the grant has been fully spent.

Q2. Can we re-allocate some or all of the funds due to these exceptional circumstances?

If you have received a grant of up to £5,000 you can re-allocate some or all of the funds as you see fit, but we would appreciate an email outlining the changes and will need a detailed report outlining the changes once the grant has been spent.
If you have received a grant of over £5,000, it is possible that you will be able to re-allocate some or all of the funds but we will need the details of the changes before we can approve this. We will need a detailed report outlining the changes once the grant has been spent.

If you have received a grant or grants from The Trust in the last 5 years:

Q1: Can we apply for further help/emergency funding outside of the funding cycle?

Whilst we do not have unlimited resources, we may be able to help if you are seeking emergency funding to meet the increased need from your beneficiaries due to the coronavirus, or to provide a buffer where other sources of fundraising may be temporarily unavailable. Please make an initial enquiry via email by outlining the need, the amount of grant requested and a simple timeline explaining how the money would be used. Emergency funds will be granted at the trustees' discretion.

If you have never received a grant from The Trust:

Q1. Do you have any emergency funding available?

Unfortunately we are unable to assist charities we do not already know well except through our usual funding cycle. Please visit our website for further details, deadlines and a link to our online application form: peterstebbingsmemorialcharity.org/apply
